Nathaniel Arnold and Photography

Born in Tasmania, I lived and worked in the North West of the state until my early twenties. During this time I got my foot in the door to photography through a love of mountain biking and capturing our crew riding around Circular Head. This passion eventually overshadowed by working with trucks until moving to NSW then QLD to study, teach, and continue driving.

In my early thirties, I returned to Tasmania to live and work - with a new appreciation for this stunning state and its natural beauty. Once again, my re-entry into photography has been via another passion; an endeavour to capture our own trucks on the road.

When I was young I shot with a Canon 450D DSLR which had been destroyed in NSW floods in 2020. I began shooting our trucks with an iPhone 14 before buying a Kodak Ektar H35N film camera. I quickly aspired to continue on a unique path and now shoot exclusively with 45 year old Nikon FE and 50mm prime lens - utilising a variety of 35mm film stocks.

I have been shooting our trucks from mid 2025, the Kodak acquired in late 2025 and the Nikon FE SLR in December 2025. This site has been active from December 2025 so it is early days - the gallery will be growing as I continue to shoot, develop and scan 35mm captures.

That will do for now.
